I'm Not a Chef — I'm a Mom
Made with Love — from our table to yours
The Story Behind Prep & Plate
It started the way most things do for a busy mom — out of necessity. Between school drop-offs, soccer practice, work, and everything in between, I found myself staring into the fridge at 5:30 pm, wondering what on earth I was going to make for dinner. Again.
So I started prepping meals on Sundays. Big batches. Stuff my family actually loved — not fancy restaurant food, but real, hearty, homemade dinners. Casseroles. Soups. Comfort food that made the house smell amazing and brought everyone to the table.
Then friends started asking. “Can you make me some of those enchiladas?” “How much for a batch of that potato soup?” Before I knew it, my kitchen had turned into a meal-prep operation — and I realized I wasn't the only mom who was tired of the dinnertime scramble.

Prep & Plate was born from that simple idea: every family deserves a homemade meal on the table, even on the busiest nights. I'm not trying to be a five-star restaurant. I cook the same things I feed my own kids — made with quality ingredients, plenty of love, and zero guilt.
Every meal is handmade right here in Carroll, Iowa. We freeze them fresh so all you have to do is pop them in the oven and enjoy. No chopping, no stirring, no thirty-minute cleanup. Just good food and quality time with the people who matter most.
Our Mission
Helping families eat homemade without the time. Because the best moments happen around the table — and you shouldn't have to spend all day in the kitchen to make them happen.
Real Ingredients
We use the same ingredients you'd find in your own pantry. No preservatives, no shortcuts, no mystery seasonings.
Made with Love
Every meal is handcrafted in small batches. We treat each order like we're cooking for our own family — because that's exactly the standard we hold.
Community First
We're a small-town Iowa business built on serving our neighbors. When you order from Prep & Plate, you're supporting a local family.
